Chris Sanders is a New York City based commercial photographer. He has been in the business for over ten years and been carrying a camera since the ripe age of twelve. Specializing in creative lifestyle photographs with a cinematic look, Chris directs his subjects to create the scene.

Graduating from Boston University with a degree in Film, Chris chose to pursue his passion in photography because the process was more intimate and personal compared to film. ‘When I have an idea, I can quickly execute it. During a shoot I like to quickly move around and try other angles and ideas’ he says.

In describing his approach, ‘Every detail of a photograph has to be considered even if it is for a realistic set-up.’ He is involved in every aspect of a production from the casting to the location scouting to the wardrobe. Even with portraits, Chris likes to know something about the subject so that he can better communicate with them.

Besides the many clients who have chosen to shoot for their flagship accounts, Sanders has shot for many leading magazines including Vogue, Vanity Fair, Fortune, Esquire, and Harper’s Bazaar. He travels regularly as a contributor for Conde Nast Traveller, he has been to Russia, Borneo, Bali, Thailand, and throughout Europe and the Caribbean. He has received awards from Communication Arts, Graphics American Photography, and Photo Direct News.

Other clients included AT&T, Bank of America, Club Med, Coca Cola, Fast Company, Hertz, IBM, Ikea, Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, Microsoft, Motorola, Nestle, Nikon, Reebok, Sony, T-Mobile, and Thompson Hotels.
